Friday Faves!

TGIF! I hope you all had a great week 🙂 I wanted to share a few favorites I’ve been loving lately to kick off the weekend.

1. Inglesina Fast Table Chair. This is the BEST chair for going out to a restaurant with Quinn or to other people’s homes for dinner. It’s super portable/easy to hook up to a table without causing damage and way comfier than high chairs. We take it everywhere with us!

2. Burt’s Bees Lip balm . This stuff saves my lips in the winter here. I couldn’t find the exact pack I have, but any of their lip balms are great.

3. Seraphine’s 3-in-1 Parka. I am obsessed with this jacket. It was a birthday gift and is made for pregnancy, baby wearing or just wearing as a regular jacket. Quinn loves it too and falls immediately asleep on walks in it.

4. The Love of my Life by Rosie Walsh. I’m only 25% of the way through this book club book, but so far it’s a great thriller. I’ll keep you posted if I change my mind when I finish it. But last night I found myself reading it at 130 AM and had to force myself to go back to sleep. I’m eager to get back to reading it during Quinn’s next nap!

5. MaraNatha Natural Peanut Butter Spread. I particularly love the no-stir kind. It’s so creamy and delicious.

Am I bit dramatic when it comes to PB? The answer is always yes!

6. Libman Freedom Spray Mop. This was another gift that I’m over the moon about! I don’t know how I functioned before we owned this?! This mop sprays and then mops the area just freshly sprayed. I only use vinegar and water to clean everything, so that’s what I fill this up with. It makes cleaning the floors a breeze, and I just wash the reusable cloths in the wash. So much healthier/more cost effective than the Swiffer mop and pads we used to use.

7. The Mole. If you haven’t watched this on Netflix, stop reading this post and go watch this right now! I don’t think I’ve binged a show so fast in ages. The link above gives a good synopsis of what it’s all about!

8. Nut Pods Creamers. These are dairy/soy free, and I love their recent toasted marshmallow and cinnamon swirl flavors.

9. Serenity Kids Organic Pouches. These have been helpful and convenient whenever we’re traveling or on the go. We try to give Quinn food baby led weaning style food at home, but at a restaurant or after a long work day when I don’t have food made, she loves these packs. I feel good about the fact that they’re organic with wholesome ingredients too.

10. This quote by Virginia Wolfe – “I can only note that the past is beautiful because one never realises an emotion at the time. It expands later, and thus we don’t have complete emotions about the present, only about the past.”

What are you loving this week?

Friday Favorites 9/9/22!

Happy Friday! I wanted to share a super speedy Friday Favorites post before diving into this weekend. Let’s see if I can get this done before Quinn wakes up 😅.

1. The Last Mrs. Parrish. This was my latest book club book, and it’s a real page turner! I will give an abuse warning for it though- some parts were very hard to read. But overall, it’s a great thriller with good twists.

Speaking of twists…..

2. Quinn Sea Salt Pretzels. The name is just a bonus, but DJ and I both agree these are some of the BEST store bought pretzels we’ve ever tried. They’ve quickly become a staple in our home.

3. Henry Rose Fragrances. Since trying to reduce endocrine disrupting chemicals from my environment/products, I’ve given up perfume/fragrances. I miss them!!! I recently discovered Henry Rose has EWG certified fragrance lines, and oh my gooodness, they are amazing!!!! I LOVE! I ordered their Discover sample set.

5. Olly Prenatal Vitamins. I have tried so many different prenatal vitamins throughout pregnancy/breastfeeding, and I am currently really enjoying taking these Olly ones! They’re tasty & gentle on the stomach.

5. And saving the best for last!!! I am OBSESSED with these Born and Raised bows gifted by my sweet friend Kori. They are the softest bows, leave no indentation and are SO stinking cute & dainty. Love love love!

What are you all loving this week?! TV shows, podcasts, snacks, anything at all?!

<3,

Mackenzie

P.S. I successfully finished this post and Quinn is still sleeping!! Woohooo!! It’s the little victories ☺️.

Friday Favorites! 8/5/22

It’s Friday, Friday!—- *Cue Rebecca Black*

Hope you all had a lovely week and have a fabulous weekend ahead. I have a few favorites I am eager to share today!

1. Honey Roasted Pistachios. Cannot get enough. These are deeeelish. I’ve been on a pistachio kick in general lately, but this flavor is a real winner.

2. Curious Baby Cards. These cards have been so helpful with suggesting fun developmentally friendly activities for Quinn. They have the activities grouped by age and go up until 12 months!

3. Yellowstone. Great show! Click this link for a synopsis. We usually try to watch a couple episodes every weekend. We are early in season 3 right now.

4. Puracy Coconut and Vanilla Body Wash. I just love Puracy’s products, and this body wash is no exception. It smells wonderful, is natural and has zero harsh chemicals.

5. Veggies Made Great Double Chocolate Muffins. Oh how I love these!! The flavor reminds me of molten lava chocolate cake. But somehow zucchini and carrots are the first two ingredients listed. Lately every night I have had one of these topped with dairy free cool whip and dairy free ice cream. Obsessed. I have also tried the banana chocolate chip flavor which is delicious too.

I’ll keep it short and sweet today! Quite literally- can you tell my sweet tooth has been acting up?!

Have a great weekend 🙂

Friday Favorites! 2/18/22

TGIF! Hey all! It’s currently Thursday, and I work the later shift, so I was super stoked to sleep in. Well Mr. Moose had different plans, and we were up at 6:30… which is still sleeping in comparative to the work days, but man, I was looking forward to that 8:00 AM wake up. My sleep has not been so great the last few weeks, and I’m really starting to feel it. I started to lose that second trimester energy burst last week, and now at mid-27 weeks I am having flashbacks to that first trimester fatigue. I’m not ready for it, even though I knew this would happen. Still incredibly grateful though, and obviously, it’s all worth it!!!

Anywho, Moose just got out his zoomies and is finally crashing again. I have about 40 mins before I need to drive into work, so I figured why not crank out a Friday Favorites.

Without further ado, here are a few things I’ve been loving lately:

  1. Slip Hair Scrunchies. These were a Christmas gift, and I cannot believe how well they work & they’re adorable. I tended to use the spiral hair ties and thought nothing could beat them- but I am obsessed with these. My onlyyy gripe is they do stretch out a little bit over time, but then I just wrap them an extra time in my hair and they work just as well. They have a strong hold and do not damage my hair at all.

What are some of your favorites on this lovely, icy, when-is-winter-going-to-end Friday?

<3,

Mackenzie

New Year, New Friday Favorites!

Hey all! It’s 2021! YAYY- happy happy New Year! I know some people say it’s just another day, but I feel extra optimistic this time around that the future is brighter (although it may the third cup of coffee talking, idk). I start back up with my clinicals on Monday, so I am trying to get as much blogging done as possible today. The weekend is dedicated to more intensive review, but for now I am giving myself this block of time to dive into these posts. I have been having just a blast working on recaps. I also realize this may be the last Friday Fav I can do for a while, so I want to take advantage! Enjoy!

  1. Kitsch Women’s Hair Coils. I was so unsure about hair coils when they became a thing a few years ago. They looked like hard non-malleable, uncomfortable plastic. However, once I started using them I never returned to the original hair ties. They keep your hair in place, are comfortable and don’t rip hair out the same way the original hair ties do. Highly recommend!

2.  New Jeans. I have the hardest time finding jeans I like, so when I find a pair that works, I wear them for years and years. This is one of my favorite pairs I have found in a long time, so I bought two pairs in “Indigo Atlas” and “Black Squared”. My mom recently asked where I got them so she could get a pair too! I love love love. Oh, and just another note- they soften up quite a bit when you wash them, especially the Indigo Atlas pair!

3. The Guest List. I actually read this book months ago, but I don’t think it ever made it onto the blog, and it should have! It’s an easy read that keeps you guessing the whole time with so many twists!

4. But I Could Never Go Vegan! While we don’t eat totally vegan, we do love trying vegan recipes and eating plant-based food. Recently we have started picking out a couple recipes per week to try from this cookbook, and we have overall loved them! The premise uses an ‘excuse’ per chapter of why someone wouldn’t go vegan, and then makes recipes that would counter that excuse. For example, one excuse is “But I could never give up cheese!” and then the whole chapter is “Cheesy” vegan dishes. Pretty fun, and it forced me out of a cooking rut.

5. The Curbsiders Internal Medicine Podcast. With graduation around the corner, I have been inhaling as much clinical knowledge as possible. This is by far the best podcast I have come across yet- I try to listen to at least two episodes per day and keep notes on my phone as I listen. If you are a medical professional seeking out a solid medical podcast, I highly recommend this!

6. Veggie Lover’s Sweet Earth Pizza. Oh. my. goodness. I think this is my favorite vegan pizza I have ever had! Funnily enough, we discovered this pizza at a CVS of all places. I think they sell them at Target and probably other grocery stores too though.

7. 2021 Planner. Ahhh, I lovee a fresh planner! DJ finds it funny I still use a paper planner, but I just have to write everything out. Anyone else?!

8. Edamame Pasta!!! My Aunt Terry recommended this to us and we love it! I think it’s one of the best pasta substitutes we have tried, and it’s really high in protein. Yum!

9. Nite Swim by The Band Perry. DJ actually discovered this song and knew I would love it. I have it on. repeat. !

10. Schitt’s Creek. We are late to the party, but we are finally watching through Schitt’s Creek! I started it earlier in the year, but I prefer watching comedies with someone else, so I waited for when DJ and I could watch together. The first couple episodes are so-so, but then it gets really good.

What are you loving lately?

A Mini Friday Favorites!

Hi everyone! It is Friday! WOOHOO! I actually have plans with a friend tonight- look at me being social. DJ is studying for finals, but we have a couple days in March planned to explore Austin together a bit more. I am doing a little mini Friday Favorites post with five instead of ten faves. After publishing this I have about seventy pages of textbook to read (Smalls 2.0), but at least I have something to look forward to, right?! Let’s get tooo ittt!!!!

  1. WEIGHTED BLANKETS! I am officially on the weighted blanket train. These are, wow, do I even have the words?! I received the one below for my birthday and am obsessed. They are a little bit on the pricy side- but worth it. I feel like I’m sinking into my bed at night and get the most sound sleep. It has definitely cut down on the amount of time it takes for me to fall asleep too. I was skeptical about them, but they live up to the hype in my insomniac opinion!3a8fd004-e4c0-4a22-99ed-f4c6d9c2fb11
  2.  The Silent Patient. Psychological thrillers are probably my favorite genre to read for straight entertainment value. This book did not disappoint. It’s a fast read and the ending has one of the best twists I’ve read in a while. The writing is intriguing and surprisingly profound at times too.img_0863
  3. SeaSnax Roasted Seaweed! Okay, this is definitely not for everyone, but I lovee roasted seaweed as a snack. I often get a little craving for it in the afternoon. One of my friends sent me a massive pack for my birthday because she remembered this was one of my favorite snacks in college (so thoughtful!).  This specific brand has a variety of flavors; I have the BBQ flavor and .oh. mannnn….. they are tasty!! (You can get them online from their website, Thrive Market or Amazon).img_0856
  4.  Fanola No Yellow Shampoo. I cannot remember if I already included this in another Faves, I feel like I may have, but here it is again… the most affordable and effective purple shampoo I have ever tried. I only use it about once every couple weeks, but it keeps those blonde tones nice and cool. Highly recommend.img_0864
  5. Oven-baked Cheese Bites with Black Summer Truffle. Need I say more?! I mean….cheese…truffle….cheese…truffle………. OVEN-BAKED cheese truffle. Imported from Italy. Trader Joe’s. Cheese truffle! Little morsels from heaven, I’ll tell ya what. 4fa5dd1f-62d6-4ecb-907e-0c5bc795212b

Alrighty that’s all for now. Time to get crackin’ on the cardiovascular system. Hope you all are well! …  I’m strangely nervous to publish this for some reason! It’s been a hot second since I’ve made a post, so I have those beginner nerves coming back, eek!

Decade Favorites! (And a couple throwback pics).

Happy New Years Eve, all! I have been feeling particularly nostalgic this year as we come to an end of a decade. It’s crazy to see all that has occurred in just ten years. I decided to compile a list of 10 favorites along with some throwback pictures from the start of the decade. It was extremely hard to narrow down, but DJ helped me decide on some fun categories to make it a bit more concise. I’d love if you’d share some of your decade favorites with me too!

1. Favorite Restaurant: Cafe Jacqueline. These soufflés were truly life changing. While it was hard to make a final decision in this category, our experience at Cafe Jacqueline for our anniversary was one of the most unique, delicious, romantic and phenomenal meals of our lives.

cafe jacqueline.jpg

2. Favorite Travel Destination: Bora Bora for our honeymoon. That was a trip to heaven and back.

3. Favorite Beauty Product: They’re Real Mascara. (I oscillated between this and Urban Decay Setting Spray). I usually use cheaper mascaras on the day-to-day, but for special occasions I whip out this winner.

benefit-cosmetics-theyre-real-mascara-autoship-d-2011100613074492_154007

4. Favorite Artist: Tim Cantor. I have never appreciated art as I should despite the “art appreciation” course I took in college. But something about Tim Cantor’s art resonated with me when I saw his exhibit the first time in San Diego. I’ve been obsessed ever since. When I look at his pieces I feel understood. I could do a whole post on this… but for now, I will include my favorite painting: Thieves of May.

thieves of may.jpg

5. Favorite Team Accomplishment: Running a Marathon Together! DJ completed his first marathon, and I qualified for Boston in the same race. Talk about an event to remember.

marathon.jpg

6. Favorite challenge: completing the RN Residency Program. I think forever that will be one of the most challenging years of my life, but I’m immensely thankful for it. I don’t think I’ve ever grown so much in a single year. Below is a picture from our graduation day.

stanford residency.jpg

7. Favorite Day: Our Wedding. We were married in 2015, but we also began dating at the beginning of the decade on January 19, 2010. (Our first casual date was July 1, 2009). I’ll include a couple of throwback pics from those first few years, because, hey, why not!

wedding.jpg

My one and only <3

8. Favorite TV Show: Game of Thrones. If you know, you know. I still am not totally pleased with how it ended, but the journey was incredible. Succession is a contender for second though!

Game of thrones.jpg

9. Favorite Musical Artist: Ella Vos. I just adore her music. Here’s a link to one of my favorite songs. Florence and the Machine is a close second with Lana Del Rey third.

ella vos.jpg

10. Last, but not least: Favorite New Discovery: Trader Joe’s. I’d be remiss to leave out Trader Joe’s from any type of favorites compilation!

trader joes.png

This was tough to put together! There are a few other general favorites I would include like living in California, beginning this blog, the birth of my niece and nephew, the emergence of podcasts, the friends we have met and relationships we cannot imagine our lives without, memories with our family and the growth of our faith. This last ten years has been formative, and reflecting on all that has happened and can happen in ten years puts things in perspective and helps you count your blessings. Heck, most of what I’ve mentioned has happened in the past five! I would love to hear if you have any favorites that fit in any of these categories or just one of your own. Have a wonderful NYE <3 Sending all my wishes for the most blessed 2020…and next decade… for you all…

Friday Favorites #26!

It’s Fridayyyy (the 13th)!

friday the 13th.jpg

Hope you all have some fun plans for this weekend. This is the first weekend where I will not be studying in a while and am I ever excited! So why not do a Friday Favorites to kick it off?!

  1. This Pukka Lemon, Ginger and Manuka Honey tea is some of my favorite tea I have ever tried. It’s smooth, comforting and tasty as can beee.

1caf5c38-aeb4-4f98-bfa4-0bb34a2e6c89

2. Red Jalapeño/Fresh Garlic Olive Oil. I was a little unsure what to expect from this olive oil, but I went through nearly the entire bottle in a couple months- it goes with just about anything you could want to sauté, cook, roast, etc. Time for me to stock back up!

a347876f-60b7-403b-b19b-ca5e09c6fe0b

3. Trader Joe’s Cedar Balsam Candle. I initially saw this candle on Kori’s story on IG, and while I was at TJ’s it caught my eye. We were in desperate need of some candles, and this one brought Christmas to our home! We haven’t had a chance to get a tree yet, but this is a great place holder for that scent. It has a piney, calming scent that burns even more beautifully than when you initially smell it in the jar.

e0b136d9-5b78-42b6-b7f2-8c3e35804bee

4. Ettitude Sheets. These bamboo sheets are like absolute butter… so silky smooth like you wouldn’t believe. I grabbed them during a Black Friday sale, and it was the best decision. Highly recommend if you are looking for some new bedding.

3bfe146f-86ee-4721-bcef-3c35c007e3dd

5. Gnocchi Gorgonzola. This is easily a new favorite of ours from TJ’s. If you are going to try one item at TJ’s right now… make it this! The flavor packed in this is just outstanding. Wowzzaaa.

36b2a124-3b6a-4877-8433-246c05dce7ed

6. Younger. I am a bit behind on the bandwagon for this series – but this show is so stinkin’ good!! It’s a great Hulu watch when I just need to turn my mind off at the end of the evening. So light and fun. The concept on paper sounds a bit improbable, so rather than try to sum it up, I’d recommend just giving it a watch (It took me about four episodes to be hooked). I’d say it’s geared toward Millenials, but I think anyone could enjoy it.

bd84ba03-44a3-455b-b5b1-64247be9786a

7. Austin Sunsets. Since it’s been getting darker earlier, I’ve seen more sunsets outside when I’m on my afternoon/evening walks. They are just breathtaking some evenings.

2a6e21bc-bca8-41fd-8cd3-2d800f26b1aafc91d351-b76c-49ad-97d6-7c5b58310de3be98dd44-d198-420f-b42b-48bffa6a588fe3341a21-75f9-407a-9262-03caeecaed97

8. This meme cracked me up. The level of ingenuity is impressive- hahah.

44870f35-d72b-419b-a620-b499b436f7fa

9. invisibobble hair ties. These are quite popular right now for good reason. My hair stylist recommended that I replace my basic hairbands with these since I was having a lot of breakage. I was skeptical based on the look of them, but I took her word for it, and I’m glad I did!! These are surprisingly strong, hold my hair better in place than the traditional hair ties and do not rip my hair out. They come in a variety of colors too. They stretch out over time, but I was told you can put them in hot water to shrink them back up.

ea4bcdcd-10fb-4988-91a6-6ecb8e1898d3

10. Dark mode on Iphone. While it took a little getting used to, I love using Dark mode on my phone. I almost noticed a difference immediately. My eyes have been so dry and irritated this semester with how much I stare at a screen while watching lectures, studying, etc. This definitely helps calm down the intensity of that light, at least while using my phone. Now they just need one for laptops! I also ordered some blue light glasses, so we’ll see how those work too.

img_6781

11. And a little holiday bonus… this video is circulating the internet and if you need a good laugh you must watch it!

Have a Merry weekend, friends!

Friday Favorites #25!

Happy Friday to you all! I am on my last day of break and did not get quite caught up on everything as I was hoping… a few unexpected things came up and somehow this break is already over. Next semester is going to be double the load of what the summer was… which I don’t even know how that’s possible, eek!.. hence, I may be a bit MIA again till the holidays 🙁 (I do have some posts backlogged to share though!!). And of course, I will pop in when I can, I just may not be as active as I’d like to be… we’ll see how it goes. Thanks for being patient. Anyway, I do have a bit of time this AM to whip out a Friday Favorites 🙂

  1. Hello mat from Walmart. In the Bay Area we didn’t have a welcome rug and didn’t really need one since we were rarely bringing in dirt or dust. However, in Texas our shoes get pretty covered from walking around the trails. I found this rug at Walmart to help the cause! It’s technically an outdoor rug, but it works inside our foyer area.

fb0da2c7-74cd-4a60-9bd5-2a94fbc482b1

2. Texas Blooms. I have loved discovering the different types of flowers/wildlife local to the area. I do have to be careful to not touch the foliage lining the trails though because it’s littered with poison ivy! (And, yes! I did find a new walking/running path (wooohooo!)- I’ll discuss that more in a recap post.. eventually… hah).

060eb77a-6369-4596-ac30-4faf3126fb27cbc0f81f-a87c-4da4-932c-08c8ed2bc340-1

3. Impractical Jokers! Okay y’all, this is one of our favorite shows ever ever!!!! This is so funny! We watch a 20ish minute episode occasionally before going to sleep, and it has us in stitches every time.

4. Boxed. I love writing letters, sending hand written notes, and even have a pen pal from high school… so we go through stamps like nobody’s business. Going to the USPS for stamps is always a pain in the butt and a big waste of time. I found these stamps in bulk at Boxed- Plus, at check out you get to add two free add-ons, so I chose the bare baked crunchy apples and a protein Kind bar. What a deal. I am going to use them more for bulk buys in the future! If you use LOVEBULK you can get 15% off your first order plus free shipping 🙂

96286120-bada-4a31-81aa-8ba8b2b72c8f

5. theo organic fair trade salted almond dark chocolate I picked this up in Miami to have for our Bachelorette night… and all of us were going crazy over how good this chocolate is!

27589482-70e8-405f-83f5-e846ef365c50

6. Greeting Cards for every occasion.I found a roundup of the forty cutest cards from Amazon for only $12.99. I have already used several— they really do have every occasion and the cards are adorable! This is just a small sample below.

d10759c6-ea48-4248-9423-2bbf5c493caf

7. Cauliflower Gnocchi from Trader Joe’s. The obsession is still going strong.

8. Mariell Earrings . I felt like these were the most perfect simple, but pretty bridesmaids earrings. I’m sure I’ll be able to wear them again for other occasions too.

img_3775

9. Niksen. This is a Dutch concept of literally (I’m trying to use “literally” when it is literally in only a literal sense 😉 ) doing nothing with no agenda. We are not meant to be productive all the time… this is a great reminder to take a few moments to just “be”. It reminds me of Psalm 46:10… “Be still and know that I am God”. How often do we just “be still”? It was very thought provoking for me. Time to put it into practice!

53498bb6-964f-4289-b7b4-d172b495d76f

10. Today I did save the best for last!….. DRUM ROLL……. Amy started a blog!!!! It’s called Rightfully Lost & is going to be your new favorite travel blog. When it comes to traveling, she knows what’s up. She does world-wide expeditions, often solo, so if you want to know how to do cost-effective trips while getting the most out of them, she’s the one to talk to. Plus you’ll just leave feeling so dang inspired. Traveling the world on your own is no small feat, and her stories are incredible. I am stoked she started this!!! Right now she has a post recapping her time in New Zealand- it’s a fascinating read, and she has a serious eye for photography.

Friday Favorites #24!

Happy Friday one and all! Although..maybe Happy Saturday when you read this considering I am writing it Friday evening. I finished up everything I wanted to get done for today, so I figured why not share some favs?!

  1. It’s-It ice cream sandwich! On a podcast I was listening to, the host was raving about how tremendous these are. I have passed by It’s-It brick and mortar shop plenty of times on Interstate 280, but have never thought to pay it a visit.

54f289b6-fa82-488a-910e-11b777d26456

This place was established in 1928 and has gained fame in San Francisco with this ice cream sandwich of vanilla ice cream in between two oatmeal cookies that are coated in dark chocolate. I was bummed we were going to miss out on this famous creation considering we wouldn’t have time to try them before we left. BUT.. while at Safeway (local grocery store), I stumbled upon them in the ice cream aisle!!!

48dd719a-2c83-44e0-9ab2-ecab9267fa9f

I had high expectations… and it met every bit of them. Highly recommend tracking these down if you are the west coast. It’s unlike any other ice cream sandwich I’ve ever had before. YUMMMAYY.

77bbef20-ddff-46a5-9923-a52ae950a0b9

2. Peets. I am soaking up every single last moment at Peets. I have gone nearly every day this week to study. The last day I knew I’d see my favorite barista, we exchanged numbers to stay in touch. I’ll miss her!! I gave her my blog name too- so if you are reading this- Hi, Connie! You make the best Cafe Au Laits in all the land! <3

227a5d73-cf1d-4bf7-a679-487de8a3bef7

Connie has been there from the beginning when I studied for my NCLEX before I was even a nurse. It was hard to say goodbye, but I will always be thankful to know her. She rooted us on through so many seasons & continues to do so. Endless learning & growth took place at Peets. It’ll always be way more than a coffee shop to me. (I know it’s sappy, but it’s true).

3. Living minimalistically <– dat a word? We got rid of so much while packing up & since our movers came Tuesday we have been living with the absolute bare minimum. I feel like having so little around really has cleared my head, made me more productive & focused. It makes me want to get rid of even more! (Pictured is my little study spot I made since we have no couches or chairs to sit on right now- hehe).

d58c008a-58ff-4b11-b5c3-3543e3fc601b

4. Tofu Tacos!! Yes, you read that right. When I first made these, I was a bit nervous how DJ would feel considering tofu is a bit spongier than meat. But he loved them! So much so he was still talking about them the next day.

Roughly estimated recipe: They are super simple to make- just sauté mixed peppers and white or yellow onion in a sauce pan over medium heat with minced garlic. Once caramelized add crumbled extra firm tofu with your choice of vegan (or regular) Mexican cheese. Then add  your decided amount of taco mix (for a batch of taco seasoning : TBSP chili powder, 1 TBSP ground cumin, 2 teaspoons cornstarch, 2 teaspoons kosher salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons hot smoked paprika & 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper- sprinkle in as desired). Add a little bit of slice jalapeno for an extra nice kick!

5. Sunsets. The sunsets have been just gorgeous this week. I have tried to take moments away from the busyness to just enjoy a moment in awe of the beauty. God is the ultimate artist.

6 & 7. Sonicare electric tooth brush with extra soft bristles & activated charcoal toothpaste. Okayyy, this combo is a game. changer. It was time for me to upgrade my tooth brush & with all the tea I have been drinking lately I feel like my teeth are staining (weirdly, coffee doesn’t stain them – only tea?). I was a little skeptical about how activated charcoal would work, but WOWZA Mctrowza…. I woke up after using it in the evening and already noticed the stains were disappearing! The toothbrush is awesome too- it feels like it is thoroughly cleaning my mouth, but without any harshness on the gums.

8. Ok, a bit embarrassing to admit, but guys, I am lovin’ this season of The Bachelorette. I adore Hannah. I think this may be my favorite season yet actually. I don’t know any spoilers either, and I don’t feel like there is a clear front runner. Cannot wait to see what happens these coming weeks! I hear it’s wild…..

9. Nathanwpylestrangeplanet on Instagram (good luck saying that three times fast)… is my new favorite Instagram account. DJ showed it to me, and it basically is a couple of aliens that make parodies of humans through cartoons. They are ingenious & hilarious.

10. Always Be My Maybe. Sigh, I just loved this movie (even though it did take me over three weeks to actually finish it, lol). I am not a fan of chick-flicks usually. I typically think they are just so darn predictable… but this one.. this one I loved (even though it was just so darn predictable 🤪). I think it’s because it took place in SF & I loveeed all the local shots & references. I don’t know that I would have enjoyed it as much if we didn’t live in the Bay Area… but it’s so cute nonetheless & anything Ali Wong I am here for.
